Wow! It's not only for the film and the actors in it but also for the realisation that I did have this space and I used to write here once upon a time in Mumbai. So quickly switching to the main topic and to get directly to the point like in the movie, Raid is a crisply written, well directed movie. The actors have completely justified their roles in it. I was in an awe looking at a few duals between Ajay Devgan and Saurabh Shukla and felt their screen presence should go on and on.
The movie starts with a very interesting sound track. As the credits sweep by, its difficult to track the actual names and hence had to take help of my better half, to keep an eye on the music director's name. And low behold, it had to be Amit Trivedi. My wife often jokes, that I am such a huge fan of Mr. Trivedi that I might like the sound of his fart too.
Moving away from obnoxious farts, the movie does have a dainty damsel in the form of Illeana D' Cruz. Her role and acting as Mr. Patnaik's wife is quite subtle and doesn't do any harm to the film.
The end has been just fabulously written and executed. The typical Amit Trivedi style of the victorious music is just an icing on the cake you would need for a good start to the weekend.
Note - The movie is a complete disappointment for those who like over the top action sequences with baddies being pounded by Singham fists or for the ones who expect for most of the traffic to be in mid air like in the Rohit Shetty movies.
Mar bhi gaya agar
Marne ka gham nahin
Dekh zara mera hausla
Marne ka gham nahin
Dekh zara mera hausla
Mujhko dara sake
Tujhme woh dum nahi
Sun le jahaan mera faisla
Jhuk na paunga bhale mitt jaunga
Jhuk na paunga bhale mitt jaunga
Tujhme woh dum nahi
Sun le jahaan mera faisla
Jhuk na paunga bhale mitt jaunga
Jhuk na paunga bhale mitt jaunga
That's not an original from me. It's the song with the victorious music which has been used in the climax and I just can't stop crooning it. Go watch it!!!
